Quick Start Guide

The previous two solo games were played with minimal game references; one of which was seen in the background of the last scenario. That reference is pictured below.

The Protection and Resistance Modifiers in the top portion are used by a successful attacker to determine the Target Number of the Check (10 plus Attack Force). The lower portion is a reference to the card bonus for Hard Cover protection. This reduced modifiers version is appropriate for games with all mundane figures. The full rules version contains references to meta-human effects that will not come into play in the scenarios I am currently posting.

The two lower portions are the same as the full rules chart. This covers game effects for all weapons and power effects for many diverse multi-verse settings. Special effects modifiers will appear on individual Crew Card profiles for the weapons being used or for the figure's special abilities and power effects. These modifiers could include bonus or penalty protection cards, column and row shifts on the tables directly or caps on the maximum effect possible for some attacks.

The lower portion indicates the actual effects of the attack. Damage Capacity loss follows the red cross symbol. Condition effects are noted in the number of penalty cards lost in the targeted attributes or combat traits due to the attack.

The reverse side of the card (not pictured) contains the full Challenge Draw modifiers and common Edges, should those less common references be needed. The most common modifiers appear in condensed form at the bottom of the Player Reference card below.

The Player Reference card has a list of actions that a figure may take when active, reactive or when using a Wait or Pass option. The Terrain section covers the effects of the three main types of ground effects plus low and high barriers.

The Modifiers section on the bottom includes seven of the most common battlefield modifiers. This is a condensed list from the Challenge Draw modifiers table.

I will go into more details on these two references over the next two days. They will be included in a Quick Start Guide that I am currently putting together and will post in the rules download files (see link at the top of this blog).
