There are six “wild cards” in the Force Deck; four aces and
the two jokers. The four aces are 1+ cards, the dark joker is “The Void” and
the light joker is “The Flood”.
A 1+ card may be played during any Challenge or Check
resolution step. Its special ability is taken immediately during the step in
which it is played. See Link in the previous post for more details on its
play. Linked cards are now affected as if they were a single card; the doubled
Force value applies to the card linked to the 1+ card (which has a “0” Force
value on its own or when linked to another 1+ card).
The Void is the Ether’s black hole, sucking cards and
actions into its maw and leaving “0” value in return. It may be played during
any Challenge or Check resolution step. If played during a Check treat it as a “0”
value addition to the total score. The full Void effect is applied during
Challenges only, nullifying that Challenge's effects.
The Flood is the Ether’s power flair with a 12 value,
four Force and the suit of your choice. This means that the Force points can
always be used for the effect you need to power up by choosing the correct suit.
As a bonus, after the Discard Step is completed, add your top two Draw cards to
your current Buff Hand. It may be played during any Challenge or Check
resolution step. If played during a Check treat it as a “12” value addition to the
total score. The full Flood effect is applied during Challenges only.
Should the Void or Flood come into play as a Link card,
resolve both effects as normal. A Challenge or Check value will be either a 1
or 13. The Void effect will nullify the Linked card's suit and Force. The
Flood effect will allow the choice of a suit and a Force value of 8. Two Buff
Hand cards are gained once the linked cards are discarded.
